Michela Mazzeo Timmer

Michela Mazzeo Timmer was born in Erice (Tp) Sicily, Italy. She currently lives in Amsterdam, Holland.
She obtained her artistic high school diploma at the art school and completed her studies in pictorial decoration at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo with a thesis on jewelry. The jewel: symbol, decoration and ornament.
Presentation Objects, sculptures and jewelry of eco-sustainable design (recycled fabrics)
My project consists of a series of meetings: project, design and creation of a jewel, object or textile sculpture through unconventional assembly, sewing and embroidery techniques. The final objective is eco-sustainable design using exclusively recycled fabrics. The preciousness of the final result is given by the idea and the right balance between innovation and beauty and not by the material. I really believe in this project, because it allows you to see discarded clothes, waste fabric as a material making you reflect on waste.
Giving a second life to forgotten fabrics through creativity and technique.
